Yes, it’s that time of year. We mulched around the shrubs and bushes in the yard. Why do the dogs think it’s a sandbox for them to play in? Dig up? Come into the house covered in it, then proceed to SHAKE THEMSELVES OUT with glee? I should have taken a picture of the floor before I swept it up. And they wonder why they aren’t allowed in my bed tonight … It’s a darn good thing they’re so cute. And no, this isn’t post-mulching play pics. Sigh … LOL.

It smells awful which is the way dogs love it!
replying to dog mulch story–For some reason dogs LOVE rolling around in vile, smelly stuff. Maybe, shaking out in the house is the dog’s version of a cat bringing you a mouse because he wants to share or see how good a hunter he is?
I’m blogging today and yeah it’s boring but comment folks. Make me feel good! LOL. http://t.co/Zsg3VqS1JZ
The weather is gorgeous here today so gardening is the subject du jour. While mulch helps cut down on weeds and helps retain moisture, I’m really cautious about using it. Some of the new mulch types (cocoa shells, etc.) are very appealing to dogs and there’s been a real rise in the incidents of problems from them eating it. Have you looked at some of the ‘green’ mulches made from recycled rubber? Doesn’t break down so use less over time. Plus it helps keep tires, etc. out of the landfill.
