The walkway of the barracks in HI…We were both in the Navy.
A now-defunct retail store called ‘Kitchen Bazaar.’
I met my husband at a wedding where I caught the bouquet and he caught the garter. We did not know each other at the wedding. We were with different people at that time. Almost 5 years to the date of the bouquet and garter toss, we married. This September it will be 29 years. Who knew when you caught a bouquet that sometimes magical things happened. The funny thing about it is after we married, we went to the couples house whose wedding we met at and they had a 8 x 10 picture of him putting the garter on my leg in their wedding album.
I met my husband at Bible Baptist Church in Fayetteville NC on 7/13/75. He has just been stationed at Ft. Braagg and was using the phone book to find a church. The first church he called, no answer, then Bible was next and someone even came and picked him up since he did not have a vehicle. We married 10/17/76.
The living room of the house his family lived in at the time. His sister was my BF in High School
In the file room at the fist company we worked at – I was a file clerk and he was an accountant.
Somewhere in our old High School….
We met when I was 15 and he was 17 in study hall in high school.

We had our reception at the bat we met at. The woman who owned the bar was my husbands best man!!!
Met my husband at work. He sold insurance, I was his secretary. The bookkeeper in the office told him he should ask me out. He was reluctant because I was 19 and he was 32. He finally did. We’ve been married 40 years.
Hmmm… that would be nowhere .. lol .. I’m 61 years old and have never been married. And yes, I’m straight. I have 2 kids – by choice, their Dad lived next door – it was perfect.
We “met” in an online New Jersey based chat room that is now gone. Our first date was at a diner in NJ so I guess we’d have to marry there. lol
We first met when we were 8 and 9 at a friends Pig Roast when we literally ran into each other racing through a cornfield. Flash forward to when we are 19/20 we meet again at our county fair in front of my horse’s stall ๐ Been together almost 14 years.. married almost 10 ๐
I met my hubby on a blind date when I was 17. A friend picked me up and we went to hubby’s parent’s house. From there we went canoeing. So I guess it would be hubby’s parent’s house.
We ended up dating 7 years and will be married 25 years in May! :cheer:
So much fun! โ@carlyphillips: Fun Question Day: I had so much fun reading these answers http://t.co/cjU7CI2xDNโ
We met at a party being held at his parents’ not quite finished house. I was 17 and he was 15. Fast forward a few years to his brother’s wedding. We were in the wedding party. We started dating that night. We’ve been married 45 years. It will be 46 in June.

I just wanted to add how much fun I’ve had reading all these responses. And there are several of us who have been married for a long, long time! I think reading romance books keeps things going for us!!
My hubby and I were introduced to each other at the public library so that would be where we met.
In my living room. He came over with a friend.
Listed old church which had been converted into theatre space, we were both working as stage techs for the same theatre company at the time.
Have mercy, it would be a software/computer lab…in a company that hasn’t been around in years! โ
At a mini-mart . Celebrating our 30th anniversary in May.
Applebee’s
At work. He was a contract worker & I was permanent. He asked me if I would update his resume for him when his contract was over. He was married at the time (no, no hanky panky or wrong thoughts/feelings). Met him in the hallway outside his supervisor’s cubicle 3 years later when he was back on a contract (and a young widower) and he needed to know where to get office supplies. 7 weeks later we were married. They warned me against marrying a contractor. 20 years ago.
In the International Center for Purdue University students. He was director there & I was a volunteer heloing to teach English to family members of foreign students. That was 34 years ago with us celebrating 32 years of marriage.
I met my husband at the Town House Disco.
The Burger King where we both worked as managers. That was over 26 years ago.
I met my husband for the first time at Best Buy in Hammond, La. He was working and I was with my mom buying her a new computer!
We met a motor pool in Fort Hood, TX. I was a brand new soldier, it was my first day at my first duty station. I got locked in the motor pool and he came with the key to let me out.
Hmm, this is a hard one. We were back-door neighbors and played baseball and other sports with kids in the neighborhood but we went to different schools. We probably first met in the alley between our houses. We started dating in 1970 and were married in 1974; forty years ago this month. :heart2:
In a stainless steel tube factory. I don’t think I would have wanted to get married there.
Freshman hall, at my locker that I shared with my best friend (and his gf…at the time). They’re tearing down the school… so, it wouldn’t be possible anymore
A self-improvement class – LOL!
At the beer tent during one of the local small-town summer weekend festivals. Although it was an actual HUGE tent when we met, it now is a permanent building, and they just open up the sides.
Pen pals first, finally met at the wedding of our mutual friend.
The hip-hop dance floor in Graham’s Central Station in Wichita Falls, TX
I met my husband while both of us were working at an amusement park. He was a supervisor in Grounds and I was a ticket taker. My coworker and I would toss paper on the ground when we saw him coming, so that we could watch him bend over.
It would have to be at Temple University in Philadelphia. We would both have to go there and see as they have built new buildings and torn down old ones.
The grocery store we met in while working together as teens is now a liquor store….guess we’d get married near the Riesling!!
His old apartment. His roommate and I were hanging out and he came home. We talked the night away. 5 months later, we started dating.
My family moved into the house across the street from where he lived. Kinda boring.
On a locked Psych unit. LOL We both worked there.
It would be a hair salon.
We met at a local club called the Eagles 32 years ago. It would be a great place to get (re)married! ๐
